My Shih Tzu is a picky eater?

Shih Tzu are small, toy-sized dogs that were originally bred in China. They are known for their long, flowing coats and their friendly, outgoing personalities.

Shih Tzu are intelligent, adaptable, and affectionate dogs that make great companions. They are generally good with children and other pets and do well in a variety of living situations, including apartments.

They do require regular grooming to maintain their long coats, but they are generally low-energy dogs that are happy with a daily walk and some playtime. Shih Tzu are also generally good with training and are eager to please their owners.

It can be frustrating when a pet is a picky eater, but there are a few things you can try to encourage your Shih Tzu to eat more:

  1. Make sure they are getting the right type of food. Some dogs may be more prone to eat a specific type of food, such as wet or dry.

  2. Try changing the way you serve their food. Some dogs may prefer their food served in a different bowl, or at a different time of day.

  3. Check with your veterinarian. There may be an underlying health issue causing your Shih Tzu to be a fussy eater.

  4. Avoid giving your Shih Tzu table scraps or treats between meals. This can make them less interested in their regular food.

  5. Be patient. It may take some time for your Shih Tzu to adjust to new foods or a new feeding routine.

  6. Add some variety to their diet. Consider incorporating some wet food, or adding some finely chopped vegetables to their dry food.
